Weather Radar: Special Project Example
The most notable special project of Ferrite supplying waveguide components for weather radar was the NEXRAD Dual Polarization Upgrade. FMT supplied all WSR-88D sites with a fully integrated RF pallet, ready for installation on the Antenna Pedestal. Typically, these pallets are comprised of Circulators, Duplexers, High Power Loads, Directional Couplers, Phase Shifters, Switches, Hybrid Couplers, pressure ports, arc detector sections, E & H-Plane Waveguide Bends, Flex Sections, along with mounting and support brackets.
