Effective immediately, Ferrite Microwave Technologies (FMT) will begin updating and up-revising all 896, 915, 922 and 929 MHz circulators. Eliminating unnecessary flanges allowed FMT to simplify construction methods. We also decrease the risk of manufacturing defaults. The circulator series is intentifiable by Ferrite part number UFC3-557. As part of this update, FMT begins migration to RoHS compliant plating for all units in the series.
New Circulator Designs
The fully cast junction design has enabled FMT to vastly improve the VSWR performance of the design with the addition of fine detail repeatable matching structures only achievable with FMT’s investment in precision tooling.
The improvements in the VSWR performance aid in the efficiency and protection of the microwave tube and mitigates any performance degradation due to the tube frequency shift from the nominal specified center frequency. The integrated transformer sections remove mechanical interfaces which improves the insertion loss performance.
