Ferrite Microwave Technologies manufactures a wide range of high power waveguide pressure windows with a variety of materials available. To prevent the entrance of moisture or contaminants, FMT recommends your microwave feed system maintain under a slight positive pressure. Waveguide pressure windows are available with air cooling and liquid cooling.

Waveguide Pressure Windows: FMT Designs
Pressure Windows for standard rectangular waveguide sizes and “Pillbox” designs are available. We utilize the newest dielectric materials for these extremely compact pressure windows.
Windows are available for a variety of applications with materials ranging from PTFE, Teflon impregnated fiberglass, Rexolite, Alumina, Beryllium Oxide and Quartz.
Windows are available in both air cooled and liquid cooled based upon average power levels. Flanges can be interchanged between CPR and UG Types for giving waveguide size as well as lab standards SLAC, DESY, Varian & LIL. Custom assemblies are also available depending on application.
Note: For vacuum use these units can be TiN PVD for mitigation of multipaction.
Microwave Techniques: Mega Pressure Windows
Support from our partners at Mega Industries extends our capabilities with waveguide windows to new heights. Legacy window designs from Mega and FMT assure minimum transmission loss, with maximum power handling capabilities. Mega offers an array of high-power pressure window designs in waveguide and coaxial configurations, as well as windows for ultra-high vacuum environments. These units are available with or without gas ports.
Other High Power Pressure Window Designs
Coaxial
Mega & Ferrite offer high power microwave windows in a range of coaxial sizes from 7/8″ to 12″. Other sizes may be available upon specified request. We fabricate these units to exacting electrical and mechanical specifiactions. Typically, teflon dielectric and 1/8″ NPT-F fittings are supplied. However, other fittings – ceramic or other dielectric materials are available for special applications.
Vacuum
Waveguide vacuum windows are available for separation of pressurized waveguide environments from the ultra-high vacuum region of particle accelerating systems. We fabricate this style of waveguide windows using vacuum-rated materials, ranging from OFHC copper, to alumina, sapphire, and quartz. Learn more about Mega Industries vacuum capabilities here.
