Ferrite Microwave Technologies (FMT) is globally recognized for their abilities in waveguide component design engineering services. We have over 1,400 delivered models in our library of designs. This broad base when coupled with our advanced microwave simulation and modeling tools provides the basis for our broad expertise.
Overview
Design from first principles lies at the core of our engineering efforts. We equip our experienced staff with state of the art tools, allowing for a seamless progression from concept to manufacture. Investment and continued maintenance of industry-leading simulation tools including Ansys HFSS and Maxwell gives the RF design team the means to quickly evaluate our customers’ requirements and provide representative data to validate our product offerings.
Use of these capabilities leads to ‘right out of the box’ performance at the manufacturing stage thus cutting development cycle times. The more than 1400 models operating in the field is testament to these methods.
We pride ourselves on the ability to work closely with our customers identifying design limitations and performance trade-offs to allow the optimum device for the requirement. Our engineers work in partnership with our clients to custom produce the most cost effective methods to meet their needs, whether developing new products, redesigning current or obsolete components, or providing support and repair services.
Waveguide Engineering & Design Capabilities
When you push the limits of what has been done before, that is where you will find the experience in waveguide component design and engineering of the FMT team leading the charge. Taking a vast array of RF, microwave, waveguide, UHV, and coax components available, and applying them to create systems is no trivial matter.
It takes years to build a portfolio that can then be used as both a starting point, and a catalyst to create new solutions, adaptations, and whole new devices that push the envelope and support innovation. FMT’s decades of waveguide component design engineering experience proves to solve even the most difficult challenges.
Component Engineering & Design Tools
Anyone can buy software. Our senior engineering team has the capacity to utilize it. FMT utilizes various software programs for RF solutions that bring waveguide component design and engineering to another level. From lab tuning and optimization of fabricated components, to inspection and measurement of complex parts – our engineering department can provide designs for many advanced research and development applications.
An overview of our engineering and design tools includes:
- CST Microwave Studio for RF Simulation and Multipactor Analysis
- Ansys Electronics Desktop (HFSS)
- SolidWorks Flow Simulation for thermal analysis
- SolidWorks Simulation for mechanical, cyclical, and pressure analysis
- Full suite of Vector Network Analyzers
- PC DMIS with a 3D Romer Arm
Electrical Test & Assembly
Ferrite Microwave Technologies can measure waveguide components up to 40 GHz. Our facility allows us to test and assemble components in a very clean environment. This ensures the highest possible performance for our customers. All electrical test and assembly equipment is maintained and calibrated yearly per our ISO certification.
An overview of our electrical test and assembly capabilites includes:
- Low-level RF measurements 3kHz to 50 GHz
- DC high-pot testing to 80kV
- High pressure testing to 60 psig with air
- High pressure testing to 500 psig with hydrostatic
- Gas leak rate measurements down to 0.05 cc/min @ 1.0 psig
- Helium (He) “sniffer” leak testing
