Microwave Techniques, LLC (MT), has acquired the assets and IP of North Carolina based Industrial Microwave Systems (IMS) from Laitram, LLC. The acquisition creates a global leader in high power 915 MHz microwave heating and drying systems for both solids and fluids. These two long-time leading microwave systems brands (Ferrite & IMS) are recognized worldwide for innovative solutions, robust designs, and reliability.
The merging of the brands, IP, and products related to IMS’s single mode continuous fluid and solid processing systems, with Ferrite’s multi mode batch and continuous tempering and drying systems into the Microwave Techniques portfolio offers customers a one stop source for lab and commercial scale microwave systems.

About Microwave Techniques & IMS
Microwave Techniques established after the 2020 merger of Mega and FMT. The group now incorporates IMS’s fluid heating systems, as well as their continuous belt-based systems into its portfolio. MT has three manufacturing facilities across Maine and New Hampshire. It is unique within the industrial microwave industry by combining the design and manufacture of the most advanced high power microwave components with end-to-end industrial microwave system development.
The high-power microwave components design and manufacturing division is based in Gorham, Maine.
The industrial microwave systems design and manufacturing division is based in Nashua, New Hampshire.
The systems group is moving into a new, larger facility this fall to support IMS production and its continued growth.
Deal terms unannounced. The combined company will continue to use its various brand names (MT, MEGA, FMT, IMS, MCi, and FXR). The group employs over 100 people with over 100,000+ SF of production capacity across the multiple facilities in Maine, New Hampshire, and North Carolina.
